Premarin Action Mechanism
Premarin modulates secretion of gonadotropins, luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) by pituitary, through negative feedback mechanism. Premarin contains estrogen and acts by binding to nuclear receptors in estrogen-responsive tissues, thereby reducing elevated levels of these gonadotropins seen in postmenopausal women.
Consult your health care professional before taking Premarin medication as its dosage depends upon your clinical condition and any medical history, if present. Premarin is an oral medication usually prescribed with a glass of water and can be taken with or without regard to meals.
Avoid Premarin if you smoke, drink alcohol, or use illegal drugs as they may interact with each other and cause serious health complications.
Do not take Premarin if you are pregnant or breast-feeding or suffer with hypotension or hypertension, liver or kidney diseases and heart ailments.
