Dostinex Action Mechanism
Dostinex is prolactin inhibitor and acts as a long-acting dopamine receptor agonist having a high affinity for D2 receptors. Thus, Dostinex exerts a direct inhibitory effect on prolactin secretion, thereby decreasing prolactin levels in plasma.

Usual recommended dosage of Dostinex is 0.25 mg twice a week for initial therapy and can be increased to 1 mg per week.
